This episode is not among my favourite ones... But I liked it when Aang was trying to push Mome through the hole in the wall but it wouldn't work because Momo ate too much. And this lettuce leaf thing was also pretty funny. Grin Grin

I thought it was a little weird but funny...I especially loved the "Lettuce Leave?" part...that was hilarious!  Grin  I also liked it when Momo was licking the apple and his stomach was bulging out.  The fight at the end was cool too.

Best quote from this episode.

Bumi: You must master the four elements and confront Fire Lord Ozai; and when you do I hope you think like a mad genius.

You know odly enough I think that quote will play in big time during season 3 for some reason.

I agree, it does sound something that will be useful to Aang later on in the series

Haha, King Bumi! One the most funniest characters aside from Sokka. Also one of the craziest and wild personalites. This was when we saw the first earth bending and also, that poor hilarious cabbage dude.

It's fun messing around with people's minds. Tongue

This is definitely my favorite episode as you can see from my icon Smiley Not only is it funny, but the fight at the end is crazy. It also has good back story into Aang's life. I give it a 10 out of 10 for sure.

This is my favorite episode from all time, King Bummi is my favorite character (Actually he acts like me sometimes... or do i act like him Huh  Grin)

Flopsie is ¡CUTE! aww i want a pet like him Smiley and Bummi really thinks like a mad genius, same as me.
I am the really EARTH KING! (Bummi)

But, i wonder... ¿Can Bummi actually bend metal? i Think he can... Maybe 112 years of training are enough, Toph only needed 1 hour.

Bummi Is the best earthbender EVER! lol n.n

Rated this 7/10.
This was a somewhat funny episode but it lacks something like more action not just the fight of two.
I liked the parts where Bumi says "Lettuce Leaf", cabbage merchant and cabbage and when the gaang use the mail system as a slide.

This had some good action actually, one action scene per act at least
The omushu delivery system, the challenge to retrieve the key running from flopsy, Fighting bumi. This was decent considering action.

This episode got me hooked. Not for the action (as awesome as it is) or for the storyline elements (which turn out to be pretty important), but for the sarcasm.

"Ooh, climbing the ladder! No one's ever thought of THAT before!"

"That's it, keep diving head in. I'm sure it will work eventually."

And so on. Up until KoO, I'd never really paid much attention to Avatar. KoO was amusing because of the sarcasm, but the personality types and behaviors of Bumi, Aang, and even Random Officer Manz were realistic enough to pique my curiosity, which made me want to see earlier episodes.

And that's where the addiction began. ^_^

King Bumi is a very colourful character and an awesome earthbender.  Did you see how ripped he is for an old guy? Wink  Aang finally got to meet someone from his life before he hibernated for 100 years.

Aang continues to show what a fun loving kid he is with that wild ride. Smiley  I like how he gets such joy out of life.

And yeah, Bumi's words to Aang pretty well say it all..."think like a mad genius" when you confront Firelord Ozai.

Whoo hoo! Late night review! So... tired... must keep this short.

Ah, the start of the cabbage merchant mishaps. Wonder how the creators came up with cabbage for the thing somebody loves more than anything else?

Aang: Name's Fanzu Pippinpadolopsokopolis the third.

Now that is the greatest name ever, but it doesn't sound very Avatarish. Sounds more like a Western fairy tale name, kinda like Rumplestiltskin. I remember rewatching that part over and over like ten times just to figure out how it goes.

That part where they slide down the mail system and they show that freeze-frame shot of them interrupting the soldiers' briefing was too clever. Aang all had his foot in Katara's face.

Katara: Let us leave!
Bumi: Lettuce leave?

The moment I heard that I just thought about it for a few seconds before I understood what he just said. That's a really good pun.

I liked that duel between Bumi and Aang. Who would've thought he was some huge bodybuilder the first time they see this episode? Bumi forcing Aang to think differently was a great lesson for any fighter to learn. What good is it if the opponent can predict your every move? That tornado thing was a beautiful effect, too. When I first saw this episode I thought the giant rock Bumi threw at the tornado would just get damaged into a million pieces. I had no idea it was gonna just get rerouted like that.

So, this was another enjoyable episode for me. They're still slacking off in their duties to go to the Northern Water Tribe, but they'll get there in another thirteen episodes.

I give this episode a 10.

Thoroughly enjoyed this episode not just for it's jokes, but I enjoy episodes that have a historical significance to Aangs life. Imagine living for 100yrs or more, and realising that almost everyone you knew have gone, I don't know if I could cope. It's fitting that Aang still has a friend from that long ago  Grin

I really like this episode!
The only thing that I had a problem with?

Why would Aang think he could get away with saying he’s from Kangaroo Island when he knows that his tattoos mark him as an Airbender, therefore, the Avatar?
That never made sense.

And the Bumi X Aang fight scene was awesome!!! Some of the best bending in Season 1! I love that Aang found his old friend after a hundred years, especially because of the Gyatso thing a few episodes before.

My fav lines from this ep:
Bumi: That’s right, keep diving head-in. I’m sure it’ll work eventually.
Sarcasm + Bumi = lol

Aang: *jumps up to the balcony* Guys! Are you okay?
Katara: Other than the crystal slowly incasing my entire body? Doin great!
You know he was only trying to get through the tasks to save her and make her fall in love with him. Cheesy Tongue Grin

Aang: I…choose…you!
Pokemon moment, hmm? Aang could so take Ash.

Sokka: Wait, I got it! He’s an Earthbender, right? Rocky!
*sings* Getting strong now! Somethin’ somethin’! Da da da-da. Di-da-da!

Bumi: You thought I was a frail old man, but I’m the most powerful Earthbender you’ll ever see.
Bumi, why would you lie to Aang? You know Toph can pwn you. I mean, she can METALBEND!

And Aang DID think like a mad-genius when he faced the Loser Fire Lord! You go Bumi for foreshadowing that!!!
