Because they look so cute together.

In Bitter Work, Iroh draws this fascinating diagram in an effort to help Zuko understand the balance of the elements, and Aang can't take Toph's direct teaching style so he practises waterbending with Katara to make himself feel better Smiley.

Anyway, I was just fooling around with screenshots and putting them together, when suddenly I realised that there was an uncanny parallel with the two scenes mentioned above.

1.  Did the creators know what they were doing??

2.  This is an awesome manip, if I do say so myself.  Cheesy

I say it's either a coincidence or it could just be some type of animation/film technique. They want you to stare at that point of the screen or something like that.

My guess is that it is mere coincidence.

Me too. It's probably following some sort of circle that's in the center of the film. ( or television or whatever)

Was the diagram in the water in the show, or did you put it there? Just a bit confuzzled...

I'd say it's a fade from one scene to another...

that's an interesting observation indeed, i think it's to help the fans with the understanding and division of the four nations in the series. it is, after all, the core theme of the show.

Raedyn_ manipulated 2 screenshots and put them together. You can see where she blurred the two together or used the paintbrush tool on the left edge of the symbol.
