I was hesitant to read your story at first, because Im not huge into AU or history. But I remebered your other story and how well it was written, and decided to check it out. Let me just say, Im glad I didnt pass it off. THIS was amazing. I absolutly loved it! Please continue! and please post when you update, because Im eager to read it and wont know any other way.

UPDATE [22/7/07]: His Dream Of SkylandOne: How High The Moon.Part 1 - Chapter 3: Indistinguishable From Magic. That's it for now. The gap that opened up in my studying allowing me to write this has very much closed. But it exists. That's victory enough for me.

This is very interesting. If the time ever comes up a continuation would be welcome. This is what AU's should be like, with the characters being true to their portrayal on the show but in a completely different situation. Different, but strangely similar.
Even if you never get the chance to continue this what you wrote was great food for the imagination.

Yeah, I saw your 'ad' in the art section so I decided to come and have a look. It's an interesting concept, though I usually don't like using links(the Deviant Art once always lag up my computer) I remembered your old fic. Its good so far, can't really say more than that until its actually finished though. I'm just that kind of guy I suppose.

UPDATE [19/8/07]: His Dream Of SkylandOne: How High The Moon.Part 1 - Chapter 7: Heist. That's it for now, but we finally have Zuko and Iroh being referred to by name! IN ENGLISH! Shock! And we also get a funky new word, 'Qoghusula'. It's fun cuz it begins with a 'chog' sound.

Is it odd that with all the differences that exist in this AU the one that is most notable to me is Zuko leading a convoy of trucks instead of being in charge of a boat?
I love the song that Sokka listened to. Foreshadowing for Yue?

Kind of. I was just looking for a jazz tune Sokka might like and I came across that. You can find it on Amazon, I believe. There's a version from 1960 sung by Ellen Fitzgerald. It's groovy.

Hey, are events going to be more gritty and realistic or are they going to be more two fisted action in the style of Indiana Jones? I'm excited to see how this story proceeds, either way. I liked how you worked Appa into the story. Is Appa a word in Mongolian?

I'm...not entirely sure Appa's a word in Mongolian. I'll have to track that one down.
As for 'realism' and what-not, you're going to have to determine that yourself since it wasn't really something I kept in mind when writing the action. Attempts at 'gritty realism' should be taken with a pinch of salt, whatever the source. There's always going to be a certain level of unreality simply because I have never once attempted to escape a convoy of heavily-armed military vehicles.
Though...slight spoiler here...there's definitely a 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' vibe to the events coming up. Then again, it's the same sort of time period with peculiarly similar motivations, just with the Avatar crew instead of a wise-cracking archaeologist. It's definitely been an unconscious inspiration, but then nothing is ever completely original.

UPDATE [19/9/07]: His Dream Of SkylandOne: How High The Moon.Part 2 - Chapter 1: Rising Sun.No weekend-long release this time around. Just a simple update. Cue further pleas of 'not enough time', 'too busy', and other variants of whining self-pity in a futile attempt to paint a lack of updates as not being my fault somehow. Also...ZHAO!

It's coming, it's coming. Painstakingly slowly, but it's coming. New job in London is eating my time and my energy, but I'm working on it. I'm aiming for the weekend. Sorry it's taking so long.
