No word yet on special features. It sounds like the five discs of episodes will be the same as the individual releases, so my hopes for commentary tracks aren't looking so good. Here's hoping for at least a nice big featurette with the creators.

I have some pricing info that I want to share with my peers. I have been shopping around in the stores in my local area and have managed to find volumes 1, 2, and 3 at prices that are lower than what I've seen online at afew local retailers. I managed to find copies of Volumes 1 and 2 at a local branch of Circuit City, for $14.99 each. I also managed to find Volume 3 at a local Branch of K-Mart today, priced at $12.99.

If anyone is looking for the individual disks, maybe they should check their local branches of these two retailers.

Has anyone heard if there will just be a box set without the 5 Vol.'s? Mainly because I don't want to re-buy every Vol. just for a special feature disc... I know when I ordered Invader Zim, I got the three discs seperate and then the box set with just the special features (Actually was cheaper that way too). I was just wondering if anyone had heard about just a special feature box set?

I wouldn't rule out a box + special feature disc, but I'd doubt it. And since the Invader Zim DVDs were done by a third party rather than Nickelodeon, that doesn't help.

I think xlegend34 might be worried about the boxed set working like one of those "do it yourself" boxed sets that ADV sells

I can't wait for the boxed set to come out.  I really hope I can get it.  I think one of the special feature will be an interview with the Korean animators.

This is from the interview with the director:

UJoF: Speaking of overseas, will we get a chance to learn more about the Korean animators?

GV: One thing I'm excited to see are the interviews with the Korean animators (I think they're putting these on the box set DVD collection). They add an extraordinary level of "life" to each episode and I'm glad they're getting a chance to shine.

Does anyone know if/when the box set will be released as something other than Region 1?  Specifically Region 4 for Australia?

This month is Avatar over-dosage.  The special edition magazine, then the "Secret of the Fire Nation", then the full season one DVD box set, then not too long after that - THE VIDEO GAME! Cheesy (Not to mention I just found out about plush dolls and trading cards and action figures and possible Haloween costumes...) It has to be extremely hazerdous for your health to be suffering all summer from withdrawal and then to have all this dropped on top of you...NOT that I don't want it...but I think I might have a heart attack...! I've seen quite a few commercials over the weekend saying that episodes 17-20 have commentaries, which makes me about three times more excited for this release than I was.

Now...what will the box set have that the previous dvd releases not have? Is there any reason to spend money of the box set, when I already have the five individual dvds?

There's supposed to be bonus features on the last and first DvDs in the set, but other than that I don't see a reason to buy it when you have the 5 dvds already.

...I was planning on getting the DvDs, but now since Nick is playing the episodes in order I'm going to get to record them Wink Which is great because I missed recording a bunch of them whne my VCR got busted.

I am soon to be the proud owner of Book One Dvd's

Im excited for them to come.

I will probably watch everyone when they get here.

From what i can see they come in a nice box, and should have extra material.

It is a good buy, and it was only like 40 bucks, so, why not?

I started out buying the dvds (I have the 1st and 2nd). Then I got too impatient with the rate that they released them. I think the delay is way too long. Now I buy all my episodes on Itunes and have a Season pass for Book 2. It's not that expensive, and the day after each episode, it is automatically downloaded onto my computer for me to burn and keep forever  Cheesy The only problem is as a collector I miss the beautiful cover art, caseing, commentaries, bonus features etc. Still I think Itunes is something worth checking out.

I've been buying the individual volumes for a friend who doesn't have cable, but my sister and I mean to own the box set for ourselves!
