When Ursa finally regains her memory and sees Zulo for the first time in years, she completely ignores the scar, she didnt even mention it. Not even "Zuko, what happened to your face"

She may have heard about her son's woe as Noriko, so when she got her face back she already knew what the scar was and why Zuko had it.

Well, Ursa had a lot of to get off her chest and a lot of to explain at the moment so I guess she wanted to do that first so Zuko wouldn't hate her. I mean, if the first think she says is "OMG, Zuzu, WTH happened to your face?" The reunion wouldn't really work well for her. Cheesy

Yes, because wanting to whine about her previous marriage is more important than the health of her child -_-

^No, explaining to her child why she left is more important than worrying about the look of the child. She had no idea where he got it or what caused it. For all she knows it could have been a firebending accident while sparring. I'm certain it was the first thing she asked about when they were alone. However, right after she got her memories back it was more important to tell him that she didn't abandon him with an abusive father for lulz and that what happened hurt her a lot too. Not because of her but because of him. Zuko needed to know what happened and why his mother left. That's why he's been looking for her. Putting her worries about his scar aside and focusing on answering his questions is as selfless as it can get for a parent.

I don't think she noticed the scar. Ursa is probably one of those airhead types like me who could buy Fall of Cybertron, open the box, put the disc in the X-Box, and play the first two levels without realizing that Metroplex is right on the front cover. Ursa will probably pick on up it a few days later.

Ursa: EEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Zuko: What? What is it?

Ursa: OH MY KOH!!

Zuko: Is it another roach? Let me get my shoe...

Ursa: No, it's your face!

Zuko: ...what?

Ursa: It's got a thing on it!

Zuko: .......you mean I have rice on my chin?

Ursa: No, the thing on your eye! It looks like bacon!

Zuko: My scar?

Ursa: Yes! That! I just noticed it.

Zuko: ....it covers half my ashing face!

Ursa: Well, I just noticed. What happened, did you you try copying Azula's firebending again?

Zuko: No! Fa- Ozai did this to me!

Ursa: He made you copy your sister's firebending again?

Zuko: No!! Ozai lit my ashing face on fire just because I spoke out of turn at a meeting!

Ursa: That... that....

Zuko: Yeah.

Ursa: That means he broke his promise to me! He promised he wouldn't hurt you!

Zuko: ...yeah.

Ursa: Well, I knew he was a rapist-by-coerced marriage, and a murderer, and a megalomaniac warlord, and kind of a jerk, but I never figured he would be a liar, too.

Zuko: I thought you told me he lied about Ikem being dead.

Ursa: Well, once is hardly a trend.

Zuko: .............................

Ursa: Zuko, don't make faces like that. You'll give Ziyi nightmares.

Zuko: She's already having nightmares because you don't look like her mother anymore.

Ursa: Well, you'll give her double nightmares. Also, you have rice on your chin again.

I can't think of anything clever to say.

I don't think the polite thing to do when you are finally reunited with your son after several years is to ask them why half their face is burnt off. You want to get reacquainted with each other first before asking questions like that.

I agree, it's probably was a huge elephant in the room in the final scene in The Search, but overall I thought that scene was beautiful.

I've been wondering if Zuko can/will ask the mother of face if she can heal his scar.

No, but she can replace his face with a certified pre-owned model, during her next big trade-in blowout. Check Memorial Day and Black Friday for deals!

Ursa: So if you're the Fire Lord, why is your face burned?

Ikem: Oh my Wan, Ursa! You can't just ask the Fire Lord why his face is burned!

Her saying he looked handsome was like she was acknowledging the scar but ignoring it or not seeing it.

^^For some reason, I can imagine Ikem saying that.

^Or the MoF decided to make it look like it's not there for a little trolling. I was still hoping she'd at least be able to heal him.

I think the MoF would be more upset that he messed up his face.

Though it was really Ozai's fault. Zuko was just caring for his country. I guess if Koh had ended up scarring him, she'd heal him.

That was my bad attempt at a joke...but disfigurement and child cruelty really are not laughing matters. I retract my "joke."

She didn't seem that interested though in "why" any human needed a new face until some excessive force made her listen.

Someone should do a fancomic of that. I burst a gut laughing.
