Aww Pabu is so adorable in this. I also love the exchange:
"The last thing we need is another mouth to feed." "But it's such a tiny mouth!!"

I love this line: "I don't know. It just kind of came to me while the snake was crushing me"
Their relationship seems quite similar to Sokka and Katara's from the Painted Lady. Bolin is a lot like Katara standing up for caring for other people and animals. And Mako is like Sokka in feeling it is important to be there for his sibling.

I loved Bolin's line "Maybe I'm not as mean as you! Maybe I just can't turn my back on people when they're down!" because, like I'm sure everyone noticed, it's exactly like Katara's line in 303 "I will never ever turn my back on people who need me!" They both got their more cynical siblings to come around. When Mako saved him, it was really sweet. ^_^

I liked Toza's line about both his body and his bank account being broke.
Actually, there were a lot of good lines in this episode.

So Bolin's neo-Katara?
But the oxygen deprivation phrase was just hilarious.

...or just give youtube a whack. took me three clicks to find it.
while not much of a refreshing plot, this episode had some sharp dialogue.
i like how these shorts manage to pack their own punch, and set things up for the next one, all in the time it gets. chop off the announcements, and you could actually run them back to back in one action packed special.

Pabu, you're so cute, tiny, and MAJORLY ADORABLE!!! Awww. Do you think he was a young babyish ferret in this short or they chibified his adult self?
I'm transcribing this episode btw.
It seems we're going to see some probending action in this animation format in the last part. I wonder how seamless it would be?

the animation itself is quite choppy, so I don't epect clever bending moves, but the way Bolin pulled a chunk of bricks out of the wall in part 1 was done well enough.
there isn't much time though, so it may just be a short scene of Toza taking a dive/stare back and forth between Shady Shin and the Bros, and not take a dive, rather than an entire match.

I liked Toza's line about both his body and his bank account being broke.
Actually, there were a lot of good lines in this episode.
I liked that one, too. I was afraid Mako was going to do a lot worse to that snake than throw it back in its cage. O.O So, Toza's an earthbender, huh? Nice that we finally know. A lot of people were thrown off by his waterbender-y wrist movement and clothes. I wonder if we get to see the other part of his team (like maybe the waterbender is related to him, like the brothers, and he sees himself in them).

What are you talking about? We saw Toza earthbending in the first episode we met him.

Well it was a rather quick scene so I can see why people wouldn't maybe know.
I wasn't crazy about the whole "introducing Toza for 3 whole seconds " yet he and the bros had this back story that was never touched upon in book one; makes me glad for these shorts.

What are you talking about? We saw Toza earthbending in the first episode we met him. We didn't know that the dumbell wasn't filled with water. As I said, his wrist movement was very un-earthbender-like, almost a perfect match to the very first lesson Katara taught Aang about pulling waves. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he has strong Water Tribe heritage. We need some *good* waterbenders in this series!

I was surprised. I actually enjoyed this and now I want to see more. Bolin's lines were glorious in this episode, not that I hate Mako but I would love to see if he says something similar to Mako in Book 2 or the next seasons. It's a tension I would gladly enjoy. (Not tension on the love triangles, Bryke please)
Anyway does this wepisodes (Are they called wepisodes?) come out weekly?
