Anyway, does anyone think that Chameleon bay has been misplaced. It had a river running into it if I remember correctly and the above map, while gorgeous, seems to imagine it as not having any river at all.

It seems to match what I've always seen for it:

Now this is nitpicking.

But the journey between The Southern Water Tribe,The Southern Air Temple and Kyoshi Island was not that straightforward.

Quote from: The Warriors of Kyoshi

Zuko: He is clearly a master of evasive maneuvering.

Sokka: You have no idea where you're going, do you?

To be fair, we don't know for certain that the gAang hit those points, we just know that Zuko had intelligence indicating it. Wink

But yeah, good catch. I wonder what lost adventures happened on those islands.

Well apparently if they were on those islands, they must have had amnesia sometime afterwards. The Gaang apparently did not know where Whale-Tail Island was despite the above map indicating that they spent some time on said island.

This definitely seems more accurate but less detailed.

One of these supposed "islands" would be in the middle of the water. :/ I think that the circles represent major direction changes in the Gaang's travels, instead of true stopping points. As already pointed out, Sokka did mention Aang didn't know where to go, so this idea isn't farfetched.

Wow. I really want to print this out and hang it on a wall in my house. It is very well done.

Does anyone else notice that Iroh and Zuko take a trip strait through the desert at one point? I know they were in the desert, but I didn't know they went strait across. That must have been hard.

This thread has been moved to Fan Media and re-named as "Your Favorite Fan Media finds" as this is not an official map and was made by someone. Feel free to add any Fan Media (Eg. Graphics, sculptures, photo manipulations) you like.

Is there any way I can get the full sized version saved? I saved the image, but I can only get the small one and when I blow it up it comes out all blurry.

Here's the original source for the map, and a link to different sizes you can download. The original size is gigantic.

Thank you. I kind of want a cleaned up version without all of the lines showing where they went and perhaps for the episode titles to be erased as well. It would make the map look more authentic and official.

You know I just realized.

This route the Gaang takes doesn't necessary prove that the Avatar world is round.

^ I am confused by that second map.

I am more than happy to have stumbled upon this thread so I could see that amazing map that started the thread. It is so incredibly detailed. You really have to zoom in almost all the way to truly appreciate it. It is fantastically gorgeous.

Respect the Screaming bird!

What confuses you about it?

i get what he/she did by stretching the poles across the map, but liberties have been taken with the shape of things as well. on the north pole, i'm not seeing that extra peninsula on the original map, and the bay/fjord thing on the left of the original map is nowhere to be found along the coastline on the second map. now that can be explained away by the polar ice cap changing shape with the seasons, but then where did these two (and a third tiny) new landmasses in the northeast come from? those could be the islands to the east of the north pole, but then the scale would be way off. sure they'd be stretched, but now they're larger overall, and are right off the coast from Ba Sing Se :-/

there was an effort YEARS ago to superimpose the avatar world map in Google Earth. is that still alive somewhere?

Mods can move this, if not under the right forum.

Not sure how many of you have heard of ScrewAttack, let alone their popular show called Death Battle. But to sum it, they go over two characters abilities, basic background, feats, and then put up their own "what if" animated fight of the characters. The next battle coming up will be Gaara (Naruto) vs Toph.

Gaara's Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqegicE_aLw
Toph's Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xQk4s9qYrk
The Battle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGbN_fIoX0o

So guys. Who do you got? From the comments section, a lot of people are thinking Gaara is going to stomp Toph due to his feats and power. I'm inclined to agree with them, but who knows? It's not like Screw Attack is perfect in their approach. They've had some controversial results in the past (Link vs Cloud).
