Long Episode Description from Nick.Com: The Northern Water Tribe braces itself for an attack by Admiral Zhao's Fire Navy fleet. In the heat of battle, Aang struggles to defend the city. He wonders if there isn't a better way to use his Avatar abilities. Zhao's invasion breaks through the outer wall of the Northern Water Tribe's defenses, and he reveals a sinister plan. Aang goes to the Spirit World for help - but will he return in time to stop Zhao and prevent the destruction of the Water Tribe?

The two episodes here were pure coolness. The part where the color goes away and you can still see it reflected in the fire and in Yue's eyes? I had spasms it was so cool. Would have been nice to learn a little bit more about Princess Yue though. See seemed like an interesting character.

I loved it! Though I was an Avatar fan before, these eps officially made me an addict.

And, being a Zuko fangirl (booyah!) I loved all of his screentime. His fight with Zhao, the whole swimming/underwater thing...it was all good.

This finale was amazing. I can't even start to tell what fight scene I liked the most. I liked how Zuko "opened up" to Aang (although he was in the Spirit World...) and told about his unlucky life. Then the finale goes and ends with a cliff hanger. I can't believe this was the season one finale. Just think what the future finales will be like...

10/10 for both episodes. Smiley

^Same here for Zuko's speech. Flippin' amazing.

This was definitely the high point for the entire season. The drama, the fight scenes, everything...it was all at it's best. Props to the writers for putting together a hell of a show.

It was a supurb season finale, the best I have seen out of a cartoon in a long time.
There were things in it that did seem rushed like the Yue scenarios, but concidering that both the creators did not know if this was going to be a hit.

God, Zuko was hot in this episode...
I second that!
When he was telling Aang about his life...that was the ultimate ZNAH moment!  Me: "Oh..poor baby...you finally got him, but it's just no use..." *hugs* Wink

Favorite Scenes: Zuko's and Katara's head-to-head at the oasis, and Sokka's and Yué's last kiss

Funniest Scene: "Admiral Choi, prepare to meet your fate!" Dash, trip, shove, splash, ignore "Now, as I was saying..."  Grin  Grin  Grin

I agree.  That was also quite possibly the most nonchalant death of a (semi-)major character in the recent history of entertainment.  I laughed so hard at that for so many reasons.

Oh yeah, Hahn died...somehow, that never really clicked with me. xD I just kind of forgot about him.

Now that I think about it, I completely agree with you, on both the nonchalant part and the laughing part. xD

He died? Well, it's possible, but really, being raised in the Arctic, belonging to the Water Tribe Army, I think he would be able to survive a fall in the ocean. I assumed he survived and was just dropped from the story because he was no longer necessary.

I don't think his dying or being alive will every really be important to the story later on. But it would be humorous to see him again in the series.. bitter and angry.

Just like it would be awesome if we saw Zhao later in the series.  They DO have yet to reveal a new fire nation commander to lead the attack on Ba Sing Se (unless it's Azula...)

he will be a new enemy in season three i suspect..or maybe the battle of ba sing se will happen at the end of book 2...just like the north pol at the end of book one....then season 3...may be aang learning firbending while they slowly advance on takin on the fire nation, and defeating ozai

I don't think they would put an fifteen year old girl in commant of an entire army to capture the stronghold of the earth kingdom. =\

A fifteen-year-old girl? No. A princess with an attitude or a ruthless but precise and calculating sociopath? Why not?

The new commander/villian-ish person could be the man from the end of the Norther Air Temple. Predictions are that he uses his stolen war balloon to attack Ba Sing Se.
