American cartoons get away with a lot, they're are just far more subtle about it. I prefer that over the shameless brazenness that anime tends to have, especially because it usually ends up more creepy than funny.

This forever!  Getting crap past the radar is soooo much more entertaining than the in-your-face juvenile junk I see in your average Japanese fanservice. Tongue

Actually, sly stuff like Getting Crap Past the Radar has me in favor of more censorship in storytelling. Artists are at their most clever and creative when they're trying to get around obstacles.

What I'd like to know is how the hell did they get the "Ready for Lovemaking" scene from "The Southern Raiders" past? How?

Its difficult to say but my husband laughs every time he sees that one. Sokka is such a pimp  Kiss

And I agree that under the radar stuff takes a lot more finnesse and creativity than classless in your face semi-porn.
One innuendo that always sticks out in my mind is in Nightmares and Daydreams when Katara says to Aang "I've got just what you need"
Granted, he doesn't actually get "it" from her during that episode, but its still hilarious, under the radar, witty, and there's no way any kids are going to understand that one.  It works for all involved. Grin

Didn't they even have to censor that? I heard it was even more cleavage supposed to be shown. Tongue

But seriously, i love stuff like the "ready for lovemaking" scene, they weren't even trying to subtle. XD

Quoted for truth. With any luck we'll get a beach or, considering that it seems to be autumn, an indoor  swimming pool at a gym episode. At the very least maybe just them training very little.

^Sweaty Mako and Bolin (and maybe Korra) training session GO!

Well, there is a training session. I recognized the white-haired guy in the pictures Brian released as the brothers' trainer in the one picture from SDCC.

I'm having a feeling that any Crap Past the Radar is going to be more grim than hilarious, such as implied deaths from crime, the horrors of street life, serious crimes in general, etc.

There's going to be plenty of grim Crap Past the Radar. You have a "crime ridden" city inspired by the 1920s, there's bound to be at least one instance of impying that a someone we see on screen is a prostitute. B:TAS was able to do that.

Also, Frothy Mugs of Water, anyone?

Batman Beyond was also pretty bleak and got away with hinting at some particularly gruesome fates for its villains. People call it Bad-End Beyond for a reason after all.

Uh, Korra is Y7 (no idea if there FV added, I assume so). It's on their website.

Also, that metalbender cop gets kicked in the face by Korra in the SDCC trailer.

I was consistently surprised with what they got away with on that show. My favorite was the living radioactive corpse that died at the end of the episode.

Even some of the japanese animes leave out the violence part.. I mean there will be huge fights and normally speaking, if people were involved in fights like these, they would at least have a broken leg. At least! But they do not even show any blood.. no matter how much of a beating the hero or the villain takes.

It depends, some do show gore, with others you are right.

But take FMA or Last Exile, or Princess Mononoke. They all show blood and death.

I thought Princess Mononoke was pretty Gory.  Heads being cut off with arrows, blood everywhere.  It was the first true Aniime I've seen and that really surprised me. Still liked it though, just wouldn't let my kids watch it.
