Official Description: Aang feels insecure when Katara and Sokka come across something that reminds them of home. Because Aang thinks his friends might leave him, he hides an important message which only leads to trouble.

Hmmm... no one has replied...I wonder why?  Ah well, I guess I'll go out on a limb and discuss...
I have seen this episode before, but only once.  So I saw it again on nick today and I forgot what a good episode it was.  Some very funny parts.  Like in the beggining when Iroh is trying to convince Zuko that "a moment of relaxation is good for your mental wellbeing" or something like that, then just as he's about to take a sip of tea...splosh!  It goes all over him!  Tee-hee!  Poor Zuko...hes totaly cursed.

This episode also contained an Aang moment that I will never forget...and my sister and I constantly re-enact:  "Wow, I sure could go for some delicious sea prunes... mmmmm...scarf scarf scarf *HACK* ...mmmMMMM!"
Oh, lordy that was funny...!

I also found another part  near the ending interesting (right after the Aang/Zuko fight >D)...When the Shir-shu (or however you spell it) is going crazy and Zuko gets smacked with its tounge ("oof!") *falls to the ground*, Iroh just stands there casually...but then the chick gets struck and hes all, JUUNN...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!  That was funny.
Zuko:  "Uncle...?  I didn't see you get hit with the tounge..."
Iroh: "Shhhhhhh..."

Iroh screaming for Jade was hilarious. However, my favorite exchange in the entire episode was when Zuko and Iroh find her in the bar:

Jade: Well, if it isn't my new friends!: Angry Boy and Uncle Lazy.

Personally, I think Iroh's going to score some points with this hottie as soon as he is "forced" to flex some firebending and martial arts muscle in front of her. I'm with UJ. This is one ship I'll even sail on Smiley.

Seriously, though, Jun's character is of more than passing interest and not just for any potential Iroh connection. She is a strong woman in a violent trade who relies upon her skills, intelligence and determination to achieve her goals. I usually prefer such characters over those who are simply endowed with extraordinary power. Not that the latter can't be compelling or fun to watch, I simply prefer the former.

I also enjoyed this episode for the cameo appearances, specifically Aunt Wu, The Herbalist and Miyuki. It's nice to see the tie ins  - and the geographic hints suggested by the inclusions.

I also appreciated the appearance of Scott Menville in this episode as the messenger who gives Aang the map. Scott, as every TGN'er will know, voiced Robin for Teen Titans. Every time I hear his voice in the series I hear Robin Smiley, and when I saw him handing something to Aang I swear I thought it was going to be one of the dreaded "Communicators of Death" from TT season five.

I know!  I loved that!
It seems her name is Jun.  Whoops.

I liked it, very much. Tongue

I think that's creature's name is spelled "Xirxou" or something like that. I'll have to watch it again with closed captioning.

We'll see Jun again one day. Bet on it.

And yeah, she should've stayed.

No need, ignite444, your humble servants here at ASN have done all the work for you! The animal is called a "shirshu" and you can read the ASN write up on it in the Creatures of Avatar section found off the World of Avatar tab located on the mainsite menu.

If you haven't checked out the World of Avatar section, please do, there's a lot of good stuff in there!

yeh thats the part thats in the DVD, its a part of the uncut animatic.

I rather liked this episode, once again Sokka is not a total baffoon and Aang does something bad for the first time in the series.

Aang running away when everyone needed him was pretty bad. There was reason to that though: he wasn't ready to handle it. There's reason for him doing somethign bad this time too.

And then there was the weirdest line that if you didnt watch the episode you'd be like 'Woah...'

'Uncle? I didn't see YOU get hit by the tongue...'

I mean c'mon! Think about how weird that sounds!!

This episode was one for Sokka.
He got to ice-dodge. We saw some of his relationship with his father - "Being a man is knowing where you're needed the most." This chapter showed how he has matured over a short period of time.  I gave it a 9.

I agree with both
Quadgurl: lol. That DID sound weird.
and
SunKing: Sokka did need an episode that focuses more on him.

That said, I looooved the action in this episode. Also, I loved it when Aang got Katara's necklace back and kissed him!!! *Kataang squeal* Ok, sry about that. ahem. I'm done.

Wow, that deleted scene is cool. I think they deleted that scene because they wanted to hide info about Sokka and Katara's dad from viewers.

I liked this ep a lot.  We see Aang kinda be "greedy" but at the same time you can kinda understand it.  It definitely makes sense after seeing "The Storm" epsiode.

This was a great way to show that Aang yearns to be accepted and will even make the wrong descisions in order to make that happen. Deep down all he wanted to do was fit in. That along with the fact that his entire people have been wiped out.

It reminds us that Aang is still a kid, even though he's the Avatar.

I saw this episode and noticed when coming back to the Abby on the Sushrew with Katara and Sokka Zuko held on to Katara so she wouldn't fall of and Sokka almost fell off anyone notice this?

I loved the part where Jun, Iroh, and Zuko fnd Katara and Sokka.  Then Jun teased Zuko saying, "Oh, so that's your girlfriend?  No wonder she left... she's too pretty for you." i just kept crackin up right there. Then when that beast thingy attacts Jun and paralyzes her, then Iroh catches her.  And then Zuko's all like "uncle, I didn't see you get hit"  Then Iroh's all like "Shhh!"

This episode has Iroh at his funniest, I think. Between stealing perfume (from nuns, no less) and faking paralysis in order to get some snuggle-time from a sexy woman who would rather not have, I think they should have just called it "Iroh Takes a Day Off From Having Scruples."
