In 8 months ASN has grown to almost 1200 members! Love for Avatar: The Last Airbender is growing. This means ASN will keep growing. With so many new members joining the fandom we need to make some requests of all our members.

1. Search Feature: Please help us keep the forum free of similar topics by using the board's search feature before creating a new topic. It's possible that the topic you have in mind already exists.

2. Double Posting: Please do not double post. Double posting is when a member post one post after another (for those of you unfamiliar with the term). Use the modify option in the upper right hand corner of your post to change a topic or response that you have already posted. If you are having trouble finding the modify button, click the link below:

Where to locate the modify button

3. Signature & Avatar Sizes: Please check your avatars and signature lines and images. You can do this by right clicking on your image and scrolling down to "Properties". Your image's information should pop up in a separate window. Your image's size will be defined in this pop up. All you are looking for is the images width and height. If your signature is larger than 400 pixels wide by 200 pixels high, then your image needs to be resized. You can use any photo editor or publishing software to resize your image. Please check your program's instructions on how to resize an image. You can also resize an image where you host it. Photobucket and Imageshack are just a few examples of sites that help you edit your uploaded images.

If you have difficulties finding out the size of your image, please click on the links below:

4. Quoting Other Posts: When quoting other posts in your response, please include the name of the person you are quoting and make sure you don't include your own text in the quote. The latter happens when users put the end quote "[/quote]" command  at the end of their post, rather than right after what they quoting. For example, this is correct:

Speaking of welcoming, that's what this thread is for. Let's get back on track.

I second that!

This is incorrect:

Speaking of welcoming, that's what this thread is for. Let's get back on track. I second that!

5. Quoting Image Posts: You can also help image rich threads by only quoting the text that an individual posted instead of the text and the photo. Alternatively, you can also remove the img tags at the beginning and end of the image which are [ img] and [/ img] (without the spaces).

6. Quoting Quotes: There is no need to quote so many quotes in one post since they're an eyesore. To make things easier to read, just remove all the previous quotes and leave the latest quote behind.

7. Private Messages: PMs are meant to be light hearted. Please do NOT use it to abuse your fellow forum members if you disagree with their opinions. In the event that you're receiving abuse, use the "Report To Admin" button on the bottom right of each PM.

With so many members we need to keep on top of these details. We will continue to check avatars and signatures for size. If you have never read Avatarspirit.net's official rules or you just need to refresh your memory, go here.

The board is doing well and it has a very strong and dedicated community. Your contributions and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you so much for all of your continued support!
