^Someone who hates Zuko with a passion. Or a troll. Or someone with no taste.
The Yu Yan are still my favorite thing about this episode. :3

^ Yea, I like them too. Too bad they were featured only once in the series

Well, actually, if you want to get technical about it. They were shown three times. This guy from the Rough Rhinos was of the Yu Yan, and he appeared twice.

Except he was no where near as good as the rest of them. Maybe it was just because he wasn't in a group or was stuck riding a rhino, but he had a much lower success rate than the actual group of Yu Yan.

Maybe he was kicked out for having such bad aim?
I'd say this is propbably my third biggest pet peeve with the series (1 being leaving Koh unresolved, though I hope that'll be resolved in Korra, and 2 being leaving Ursa unresolved).

The Blue Spirit is one of my favorite episodes from ATLA.
1. Loved the cooperation between Aang and Zuko while escaping Zhao's men - they worked great together. 2. Zuko's sword action: I was glad to see that he had another great skill besides bending. 3. Yu Yan Archers!! 4. We begin to see some changes in Zuko, and we see how altruistic Aang is by bringing Zuko with him after he was hit by the Yu Yan outside the gates. 5. Loved seeing how Aang cared for his sick friends - and through everything, he never forgot about the frozen frogs they needed to get better.
Great episode!

(Well, pretty much done studying for midterms- for now- so I'm back...)
I thought this was a decent episode. A lot of action, a good bit of development for Aang and Zuko, and I really like Admiral Zhao in this. He played things pretty intelligently. He got around the whole "can't kill in a kid's show/idiot villain" tropes by actually having a pretty good reason to not kill Aang. The avatar would just be reborn again, and it would be a waste of resources to track him down.
The action in the escape was pretty inventive, especially the sequence with the bamboo ladders.
I wonder if anyone was really fooled by the identity of the Blue Spirit. They played it like it was a mystery and a big reveal, but really, who else could it have been?

I was fooled. I thought he was a waterbender because he used that bucket at some point.

Great episode. Surprised I never reviewed it. Anyway, this episode had some good twist. I liked Zuko's and Aang's moment in the forest. The show did a good job setting up Zuko's turn. I became a firm believer in his redemption since this episode aired. The action was also fun to watch. I always recommend this episode to people I'm trying to introduce Avatar to. The fact that I still highly regard it tells me that this episode really was something special.
Also, great music. The Track Team had a lot of great tracks, even in the first season.
