I looked around for a topic like this but did not see one. Has anyone else seen these exclusive at Toys R Us? Found them a couple of weeks ago myself. The King Bumi looks great, even has "hair" on his underarms. Bumi comes with Aang with glowing eyes and arrow. Roku comes with Aang and both are in the Avatar spirit state (translucent blue). Here are a couple of auctions on ebay for them, but I wouldn't recommend the prices since they are only $12.99 at TRU. Airbending Aang and King BumiAvatar Spirit Aang and RokuHello all,
I did a little house cleaning. There were too many threads about the same thing, so I merged them all together. Please use your search feature before creating new threads. Thanks so much!

The Katara figure is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2007. Probably Toph also, although she wasn't specifically addressed in my correspondence with Mattel.

As a rule, strong females get shafted by Mattel. *points to their Batgirl BARBIE* Comparatively, getting Katara in action figure form at all is good news, even if it will be a little late.

They have Roku out, but I have only seen him on Toywhiz..and it's kinda expensive. http://www.toywiz.com/atlaar.htmlEdit: Went to Toys R Us tonight. They had not restocked their Avatar display. All the talking dolls were gone. I also could not find any rhinos. They don't know when they will be doing this. The good thing is I was able to pick up the Toys R Us exclusives. King Bumi looks awesome!

I bought Avatar Roku about a month ago, that was the first time i had seen him so i didnt hesitate to pick him up. Years as a toy collector have taught me to not hold off on buying toys when i first see them. Unfortunately, i havent been able to buy any more Avatar toys as ive been told to hold off on them, as they could be Christmas presents. Im hoping to find all of them under the Christmas tree.

I want the Katara & Toph toys to come out before Christmas because I was looking forward to seeing those under the tree.. maybe Mattel can release them before Christmas if we write to them or something?! So who knows what "secondary characters" they are making?! Make Katara & Toph come out sooner!

I think the spirit roku & aang are dumb. i got bumi tho. he's awesome. i also got casual roku and water nation aang. I'm sad cuz I want Katara & Toph action figures to come out sooner. I was looking forward for them to come out before X-mas so i could wake up with them under the tree! Maybe if we write Katara & Toph can be released sooner than the others?! Anyone else think K & T should be released sooner than MIDDLE OF 2007?!! EDIT: Oops... sorry. I am new though. I got the Blue Spirit Zuko for X-mas though. No Katara or Toph. Oh well.

Please don't double-post, rob3rtman. If you need to add something to a post you have made, you can use the Modify button. There is definitely no need to repeat yourself in consecutive posts!
As for the release schedule for the action figures, there's probably not a whole lot they can do to speed it up. My dad works for Mattel--which is how I got the pertinent contact info--and I have it on good authority from him that it takes up to a year to develop a toy. There's a lot that goes into it--conceptual design, practical design, testing, marketing research, etc. Mattel didn't even know until July (Comic-Con) how high the demand for Katara was, so it wasn't until then that they began developing the new action figures.

Yes, it takes a decent amount of time to make a toy, as the things that Karalora mentioned above have to go into the product. On top of that, most toy lines dont kick off with many figures simply because there is no way to gauge how much of a demand there will be for the product. The first wave of a toy line not selling isnt a good sign, as it can prevent other figures from being made. So with that, they company tries to put out figures of characters that it thinks will be more popular, hence no Katara in the opening wave of the Avatar figures. But its coming, and thats a lot better than knowing its not coming at all.

So, Mattel recently released a Blue Spirit Zuko action figure. They love us. I'm getting one tomorrow at my second Avatar meetup. By the way, avatartoys.com is updated. Just not with the Blue Spirit Zuko (and possibly others) quite yet..

Tell us more, paranoidiot! Is it limited edition? Where will it be available? Are you getting a sneak preview/prototype? Am I just going to have to kidnap Mattel's QA middle manager and hold him hostage until they give me one?

Kidnapping? Where? Who? How can I help? I have been on the phone for a little over an hour now with every Walmart and Toys R Us in my area. They don't sell them at Target in my area anymore. Aangster finally decided to brave the elements (the biggest shopping day of the year) to look for these toys. I would love a Blue Spirit, but the Roku with Dragon is making me drool..... I have only seen this info posted a few places online. Here it is on ebay Blue Spirit Zuko

Next time I go out, I'm going to look for this. There's just something about a Blue Spirit action figure that screams 'Buy me.'

Kidnapping? Where? Who? How can I help? That's my dad's job at Mattel. I'm going to visit him today anyway, so just say the word, and I'll bust out the stone glove handcuffs. (Actually, I'll probably just corner him and see what I can pry out of him about the planned availability of these new figures.)
