This is Ham Ghao's official description:

'Ham Ghao is one of the most disliked of all the Sun Warriors. He is known as the most annoying person in the tribe and he always seems to know about everyone else's business. Several times some of the other Sun Warriors have had secret meetings with the Chief to discuss their dislike for Ham Ghao.'

Cheesy They hold meetings just to say they don't like him. Poor guy.

Maybe it WAS a real egg, but the Sun Warrior just put gold on the outer layer so it became more... decorative Tongue Undecided

Really fun episode.  It was interesting to see the origins of firebending and yay for dragons.
Zuko and Aang definitely have an older/younger brother vibe. Their banter is fun.
Zuko and Aang learned an important lesson about fire and it's nature...Zuko realizes that the Fire Nation haas corrupted fire bending.

Zuko sure does mention Iroh a lot.  He really misses him.

I just watched the Swedish version.

It wasn't quite up to par...

But one thing was funny. You know how a lot of people thinks Zuko is dorky(adorkable, or whatever), right?

That made Sokka's "Jerkbending" joke pretty funny, since it was "Töntbendning" in the swedish version- Tönt=Dork.

I guess that's primarily because there are no words that really means the same as jerk... the closest you would get would be arsle, the swedish equivalent of a**.
Meanwhile, the swedish "Tönt" have a more condescending air and use than the typical dork, so it works. Tongue

Aww, that's such a sweet screencap.  Aang totally fanboyed Zuko in this episode.  He was all like little brotherish....adorable.

Originally when I first saw it I thought it was ok episode, but once I watched it again it was really good.  I just like the whole story line with the Sun Warriors, not to mention the dragons.  They should have some out of hiding and helped fight the war at the end lol.

I didn't really care for this episode. I just don't think that it was that important, Aang could of Learned firebending without going to some place to learn it. He had already opened his fire chakra which was to give up shame. He talk with guru pathik about it. My beef with the episode is that it took away from the main storyline, and we needed season progression.

I just watched this episode again.
It's not my favorite, but eeeeeh.
I like the noise Zuko makes when the gooky glue stuff gets him the first time. xD

I also like the Inca/Aztec/etc culture going on. A refreshing change.

when zuko screamed when the goo shot out. I thought he sounded like a girl. and when I first saw this, when zuko said what happened to his firebending after they saw the dragons. I thought for a weird reason that he and aang were going to hug..(weird) I think it was because of how they were standing

The Aang/Zuko interaction (going from previous eps when they were all serious with each other) was very refreshing. I still think it's pretty weird that Aang is so accepting of Zuko so quickly.

What is this "Purple Dragon Theory"? I've heard it mentioned in passing before, but I haven't been able to find anything on it (not that I've looked all that far...).

Isn't it the theory that the golden egg would hatch and a little purple dragon would come out...Zuko would later receive the dragon?
Maybe I'm wrong. Tongue

Im new here and i have NO IDEA where to post this, so i did it here, sorry.

after watching all of the episodes (which i SO deeply admire) many many times, one thing that occurred to me was how much foreshadowing they did. it was really cool to have something that was mentioned in the first season being mentioned again in seasons 2 or 3. however, there is one problem with the story that i found and its really bugging me. if you go back and watch book 1 episode 2 and look at the statues of aangs past lives in the air temple, the statue that aang focuses on is avatar roku. but look to roku's left. now i could be rong here because i am just a normal person who happens to really likes this show, but i could have sworn that the avatar before roku was kyoshi. but the statue to the left of roku is not kyoshi.

all im really asking here is for someone to tell me if i am correct to say the writers made a small mistake, or if i am just going CRAZY.

thanks Grin

It's a mistake. It's been mentioned a few times in the Interesting things noticed thread (part 1, probably).

The writers themselves have admitted that they were wrong there, but I don't remember exactly where that was. Try checking the interviews on the mainsite if you really want to know.
